Brutally Honest! Game Reviews and News

Top 10 Games Every Gamer Should Know

I have seen a few of these lists on the internet, but they all seem painfully generic. I’m pretty sure they just copied a “Best Selling Games of All Time” list. I promise this list isn’t like that. Remember: these are games that I have played. There may be better games out there, but these are my favorite. Here we go.

10. Burnout Paradise

This is a racing game with slow-motion crashes, a large, open map, and tons of vehicles. This is worth your money especially if you’re a fan of the genre. Plus, it has a fun multiplayer mode!

9. Half-Life 2

Everyone already knows what this game is so it’s no surprise that it is on the list. It’s a futuristic FPS with an awesome story, weapons, and enemies. If only Half-Life 3 would come out!

8. RollerCoaster Tycoon 3

This is an odd one, but it definitely deserves to be on the list. You can make roller coasters and kill people with them. GO BUY IT.

7. Portal 2

Portal 2 is an awesome game with awesome mechanics, awesome characters, and an awesome story. Who wouldn’t want to teleport onto mysterious goo while defeating robots?

6. Just Cause 2

I bet this game has ruined many people’s lives. According to Steam, I’ve clocked in 2,803 hours into this game! No, that’s not a misprint, I really have wasted my life like that. Anyway, this game is an action-packed adventure that you will become addicted to once you see the 1,035.55 km² map and the handful of weapons and gadgets that make this game what it is. Pretty much you’re a Latino Batman.

5. Red Dead Redemption

This game is pretty much Grand Theft Horse. The story and voice acting is spot-on, and the gameplay is just so fun! You never want to put the controller down (yes this is a console exclusive)! Nothing is better than lassoing a man and tying him to railroad track. A full review of this will be coming shortly.

4. Batman: Arkham Origins

Any of the Batman games could have made this list, but I chose Origins because of the new gadgets and compelling story. Also, this game has a lot larger map than the other two games. Why wouldn’t you want to be Batman?

3. Medieval II: Total War

This is arguably the best Total War game or even the best TBS game out there. The setting is great. The factions are great. The detail is great. Everything about this game is great. It actually feels like the developers cared about their game.

2. Mount & Blade: Warband

I REALLY wanted to put this game in the #1 spot, but I just couldn’t. There may so many things that this game has, but there is a lot of things it doesn’t have (like voice acting). You could spend hundreds of hours on this game and still not beat it. Even though it may looks like it’s from ten years ago, it gets around that by giving you so much content. The battles still amaze me after 428 hours of play. It is definitely worth your money!

1. The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim

Gosh, this game is a beauty. Though it does have some problems, the vanilla version is a masterpiece. There is a near endless amount of quests and adventures for you in the land of Skyrim. The game isn’t perfect, but the amount of content in this game makes me jump with delight (not literally). If you don’t have this game, you’re an idiot. THE END.
